Mt.Namunanhy

Mt.Namunanhy is called Mountain of the Virgin Mary or Goddness Peak. Mapam Yumco between the two Mountains is honored by followers Holy Lake, which is said to be the amrita offered to beings by Sakyamuni. Beside Mapam Yumco is Lhang Co nicknamed Ghost Lake, namely the heaven of the dead. The two mountains and the two lakes are honoured by pious followers God Mountain and Holy Lake respectively. In tibetan, we call it Gang Co.

Covering an area of 200 square kilometers, Mt.Namunanhy has six main ridges, on which ten peaks, with an average height of 6000 meters each, strew at random.The west ridge runs from north to south in the form of sector; the east only ridge was eroded into edge-shaped ridge,forming a cragged cliff with a height difference of 2000 meters. In comparison, the gradient of the west ridge is mild.There are 5 great glaciers, covered with ice cracks and ice cliffs.
