Day 01: Chengdu-Lhasa
We will meet at North railway
station of Chengdu, taking T222 train to Lhasa. So we must spend
night on the train.
Day 02: Chengdu-Lhasa
We are still
on the way to Lhasa. Along the way we can have look of Sichuan
Basin and the Yellow Earth plateau.
Day 03: arrive in Lhasa
When the
train drives on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, you can see the rare
species of plants and animals of Kekexili in this area. If you are
lucky enough, Tibetan antelopes can be seen running along the
railway. And we will drive across the part of Mt. Tanggula which is
the highest place along the Qinghai-Tibet railway with about 5,072
meters' altitude. Then we are going to the highland meadow which
covers a large area for pasture. And Namtso lake which situates
between Amdo and Nagchu is the next attraction. Our eyes can enjoy a
feast with the crystal blue water. Finally we arrive at Lhasa in the
evening, but nothing to be worried we have booked the hotel in Lhasa
for you.
Day 04: Lhasa
Today, you will have a tour by yoursel. You can start it
with the world famous Potala Palace (excluded entry fee
of sightseeing). This palace was built in 7th century
during the Tang Dynasty for King Songtsan Gambo's wife
Princess Wencheng. After that go on to visit Norbulingka-
the summer place and Jokhang Temple ( the most famous
and oldest building in Lhasa), shoppping in Barkhore
Street( the business center of Lhasa), and photographing
along Lhasa river side having a general idea for Tibetan
culture and life... Lastly, overnight in Lhasa.
Lhasa urban tour attraction: Potala Palace (RMB100), Norbulingka - the Summer Palace (RMB60), Jokhang Temple (RMB70), Barkhor Street, Ramoche temple (RMB25), Drepung Monastery (RMB55) and Sera Monastery (RMB55) are all located in Lhasa urban, the taxi in Lhasa is also cheap, about RMB10 to anywhere urban, or the rickshaw at RMB3-7. Overnight in Lhasa.
Tips: If you are not interested in the Tibetan temple, one temple can make you an overall impression, and taking photography only outside of the others is a good solution. However, the Barkhor Street is worth visiting, it is the Tibetan market, the vendors sell Tibetan handcraft, souvenir and daily commodities for local people. (Meal and transportation excluded, we charge RMB200 extra if you prefer to follow a tour group with Chineses-speaking tour guide to Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor
Street.)
Day 05: Lhasa-Shigatse
We will drive through the turquoise Lake Yamdrok on the
vast Tibetan Plateau and Korala Glaciers. Yamdrok Lake situated in
Lhoka area with an cover of 621 square km and the elevation of 4,441
m is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Also it is the largest
lake on the northern slope of the Himalayas. On the way we can enjoy
wonderful sightseeing and take pictures. Lastly we will arrive at
Shigatse and overnight in Shigatse hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 06: Shigatse
With tour guide we will cost the whole day to visit visit
Tashilhunpo Monastery, Shigatse fair. After lunch visit the Lhokar -
the Tibetan granary and see the local life, back Lhasa and transfer
to hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 07: Shigatse-Chengdu
Today we will leave for Chengdu. All service ends. (B) |
